This new construction project started as a Request for Proposal response for a design-bid-build competition, and resulted in the award to the firm to complete work for a 900-student elementary school and 1900-student secondary school in the Smith neighbourhood of Langley, which will be named Smith Middle and High School, on which I was an Intermediate Architectural Technologist. I participated in internal proposal strategy and design meetings; and through my involvement was able to assist in the research and writing of the proposal, and collaboration during design charettes. The site required particular analysis due to its proximity to public amenities and waterways, as well as for its sloping topography and characteristic property extents.
