This new construction project is a 500-student elementary school in the Rosedale neighbourhood of Chiliwack, which will be named East Side Elementary School, on which I was an Intermediate Architectural Technologist and Job Captain from Programming to Tender. I participated in client, consultant, stakeholder, and design meetings; and through my involvement was able to coordinate and complete work for construction documents, report writing, and costing. I collaborated with my colleagues in developing the Revit BIM model for construction documents (plans, sections, elevations, and schedules), detailing, tendering (issue for bid and addenda), and architectural visualisation. An energy model was completed for building permitting, and for costing and value engineering. In addition to the programme requirements, this project is notable for it's raised-podium approach to address the high flood-plain, and the inclusion of a Neighbourhood Learning Centre (daycare), a gymnasium, and a "mediatech" learning commons. Construction assemblies were designed in consideration for Greenhouse Gas emission reductions (including a "solarwall"). These additional project criteria required comprehensive coordination with various authorities having jurisdiction, bylaw and code requirements, and professional engineers.
